The Atlantic iOS app allows you to save stories for future reading. Saved stories are also available for offline reading at your convenience!
Open The Atlantic iOS app and take a look at the bottom navigation bar. Above the Saved tab you can see a bookmark icon. Anywhere this icon appears in the app, you can tap and save an individual story to your Saved tab.
Subscribers can also download magazine issues to have entire issues available for offline reading. Tap the Magazine tab in the bottom navigation bar to open the magazines page. From here, select the issue you'd like to download to open the page and tap the cloud icon in the top right corner.
Please note, you will need an internet connection when saving stories or downloading magazines so they don't get lost!
Reading Saved Stories Or Magazines
To find your saved stories later, simply open your Saved tab on the bottom navigation bar. Each of the articles found here may be read online or offline at your convenience.
To find the magazines you've downloaded, open the Magazine tab and tap the issue you downloaded previously. If a magazine has downloaded, you will find a check mark icon in the top right corner.
Deleting Saved Stories Or Magazines
We know, saving things on your phone takes up precious photo space!
You can free up space in your app in these three places:
- Tap the icon (bookmark or checkmark) where you saved or downloaded originally. This will remove the item from your Saved stories or downloaded magazines.
- Open the Saved tab and tap Edit in the top right corner. This will allow you to remove any Saved articles you have from this tab.
- Open the Settings tab and scroll to Downloads. Here you can delete your saved stories and downloads or manage their size.
