To share The Atlantic with a fellow reader, visit TheAtlantic.com/gift. You can choose from three subscription types: Digital, Print & Digital, and Premium. Once you’ve selected a gift, you will be prompted to create a free account or, if you already have one, to sign in. With your online account, you’ll be able to track your gift order and easily manage your gift subscriptions online.

Note: Registering online is free of charge. You do not need to purchase an Atlantic subscription to create an account. If you’re interested in purchasing a subscription for yourself, visit our subscription page.
Giving a Digital Subscription
You will need the following information about your gift recipient:
- Full name
- Email address
Your gift recipient’s year-long unlimited access to TheAtlantic.com automatically begins on the gift delivery date that you indicate. On that day, The Atlantic will send an email to your gift recipient with instructions on how to gain access to their gift.
Giving a Print & Digital or Premium Subscription
You will need the following information about your gift recipient:
- Full name
- Mailing address where they will receive their print issues
- Email address
Your gift recipient’s year-long unlimited access to TheAtlantic.com automatically begins on the gift delivery date that you indicate. On that day, The Atlantic will send an email to your gift recipient with instructions on how to gain access to their gift.
Please allow up to four to six weeks for your gift recipient to receive their first print issue.
Note: If your gift recipient would like to change the email address associated with their subscription, they can do so by contacting our Customer Care team.
Give an Atlantic Digital Subscription as a Premium Benefit
As a Premium Plan subscriber, you are entitled to give a free one-year non-renewing Digital Subscription to a fellow reader.
To share The Atlantic with a fellow reader, visit Theatlantic.com/accounts. Click “Gift Subscription” in the sidebar, then click “Send Now” next to “Free Digital Gift Subscription”. You will then be prompted to provide the following information about your recipient.
Giving a Digital Subscription
You will need the following information about your gift recipient:
- Full name
- Email address
- Date
Once you have provided all of the details above, click “Send My Gift.” On the date you indicate, The Atlantic will send an email to your gift recipient with instructions on how to gain access to their gift. This will instantly grant unlimited access to TheAtlantic.com.
If you’re looking for a long-term way to share access rather than a one-time gift, the Premium Plus plan lets account owners share digital access with up to three additional friends or family members.
Premium subscriptions purchased as gifts are not the same as Premium Plus.
If you’re looking to give someone access to all current Premium Plus benefits, please make sure you’re purchasing Premium Plus, not the legacy Premium plan.
