What is your new subscription service?
The Atlantic offers three subscription tiers—Digital, Print & Digital, and Premium. All subscribers enjoy unlimited access to the site, plus other benefits like an exclusive newsletter, a digital library with PDF issues and audio articles, and our iOS and Android apps. To learn more about why we’re offering this new service, please read our editor in chief’s letter to readers.
How does The Atlantic’s website work now?
Subscribers can read unlimited articles by creating an account and signing in.

What are The Atlantic’s subscription plans?
We have three plans, which are available for purchase online:
- Digital: Unlimited site access, iOS and Android apps, subscriber-only newsletter with insights from our newsroom, exclusive live events, and digital library featuring audio articles, special issues, and more
- Print & Digital: Full Digital benefits, plus home delivery of 10 print issues each year
- Premium: Full Print & Digital benefits, plus ad-free web browsing and podcasts and a free digital gift subscription
What forms of payment do you accept?
We currently accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay.
Do you have an app?
The Atlantic offers iOS and Android apps, which are free to download but all articles are subscriber-only.
For the iOS app, you can gain access two ways: 1) by purchasing a subscription directly from The Atlantic and signing in to the app or 2) by purchasing a subscription from Apple’s App Store.
For the Android app, you can download it in the Google Play Store.
- If you have an active subscription, sign in using the email address and password associated with your Atlantic account. If you haven’t set up an account, you can create one by following these simple steps.
- If you’re not yet a subscriber, join us today by purchasing a subscription on TheAtlantic.com. You can then sign in to the app on your Android device using your Atlantic account details.
If you’re already an Atlantic subscriber
Can I still access The Atlantic’s full website?
Yes! All existing and new subscribers have unlimited access to The Atlantic’s website. If you already have an account, just log in. If you don’t, simply create an account and connect your subscription. If you need help creating an account, our help center has detailed instructions.
I only get the print edition of the magazine. Do I still get access to the site?
Yes! All subscribers have full access to The Atlantic’s website. You also have access to other digital benefits, which you can explore in your online account.
I just purchased but I still can’t get full site access. What’s happening?
After you entered your email address and password during the purchasing process, you should have received an email with the subject line, “Please complete your online registration with The Atlantic.” Clicking the link in the email activates your account. If you can’t find the email or the link isn’t working, please contact our Customer Care team.
I registered but I’m still not able to access the site fully, and I don’t see my subscription status reflected in my online account area. What’s happening?
You’ll first want to make sure your online account is connected to your subscription. If you still need help, though, please feel free to contact our Customer Care team.
I set up my account, but I keep getting logged out. Can you help?
We know that not remaining signed in to your account can be frustrating! We’ve created a step-by-step guide for maintaining access to your account.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You may cancel your subscription at any time by visiting your Account page or by contacting our Customer Care team. To cancel a gift subscription, please get in touch with Customer Care. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. Please read our full terms here.

If you’re not currently an Atlantic subscriber
Do I get free articles in the iOS and Android apps, too?
Our iOS and Android apps currently require a subscription to read any articles.
For the iOS app, you can gain access to the app in two ways:
- Buy a subscription directly from The Atlantic and link your account in the app.
- Buy a subscription from the Apple App Store. If you choose this option, simply register with The Atlantic to get full access to the website as well.
For the Android app, you can buy a subscription directly from The Atlantic and then sign in to the app on your Android device using your Atlantic account details. You cannot purchase an Atlantic subscription in the Google Play Store at this time, but we plan to offer that as a purchase option at a future date.
Do you have an academic discount?
Students and educators at all levels can get a discount on any Atlantic subscription. You can purchase a subscription at our academic rate here.
Do you have B2B subscriptions or group discounts?
We’d be happy to speak with you more about bulk subscriptions. Please submit a request to learn more about our group subscription rates.
Are international readers able to subscribe?
Yes! All digital subscriptions are available to everyone at the same rate. Subscriptions that include the print edition of the magazine (Print & Digital, and Premium) will add an additional shipping & handling fee of $10 per year for Canada and $20 per year for all other international subscribers.
If you’re an iOS-app subscriber
What is included with my subscription?
Everything in our Digital subscription plan! You receive unlimited access to the iOS app and to TheAtlantic.com. Just create an account with The Atlantic to unlock all of your digital benefits.
How do I link my iOS app subscription?

If you subscribe via Kindle or another partner
What do I receive with my Kindle subscription?
Your subscription through Amazon includes all print editions of The Atlantic magazine in Kindle format, but not unlimited access to The Atlantic’s website. To enjoy full digital benefits, please explore our subscription options.
